Reports

Seer Box allows to generate detailed reports regarding its monitoring and detection capabilities.

These reports can be configured to be produced for the entire set of domain groups or for a specific subsets of them, depending on the user's needs. The system also provides the flexibility to generate ad hoc reports or to schedule them at multiple periodic cadences, which can be customized according to one's preferences, as well as to send them automatically to one or more configured email addresses.

Schedule management

Report schedules allow you to schedule and configure the generation of reports. Only users in the admins group or users belonging to a group with permission related to report management (Handle reports) are allowed to manage a schedule. Users in the admins group will be able to view and manage all schedules created. Other users, on the other hand, will only be able to view and manage their own schedules.

Create a schedule

From Seer Box web interface

  1. Access the Reports - Schedules page: in this section you can view the list of schedules already added. Clicking on the individual item will display the detail information associated with it.

  2. Click on the Create schedule button in the upper right corner of the page.

  3. Enter the data for creation:

    • Schedule name - name of the schedule. They do not have to be unique.
      • Recurrence - the frequency of the report generation. Available options are:
        • Daily
        • Weekly
        • Monthly
        • Quarterly
        • Only once - the report will be created once when the schedule is saved. You will be able to configure the time interval associated with it, which cannot be greater than 3 months.
    • Forward reports - allows you to forward, if desired, generated reports via email.
    • Recipients - field available only if forwarding reports by email has been selected in the Forward reports field. Multiple recipients can be added.
    • Endpoints - allows you to select a set of domain groups or a set of hosts for which the report will be generated.
  4. Click on the Save button in the upper right corner of the page.

The new schedule will appear on the summary page.

Edit a schedule

Editing a schedule is allowed only for users in the admins group or users who belong to a group with permissions related to report management (Handle reports).

  1. Access the Reports - Schedules page: in this section you can view the list of schedules already added. Clicking on the individual item will display the detail information associated with it.

  2. Click on the Edit button with a pencil icon located on the right end of the schedule you want to edit.

  3. Edit the chosen fields.

  4. Click on the Save button in the upper right corner of the page.

Delete a schedule

Deleting a schedule is an irreversible operation: once done it is necessary to repeat the creation operation to restore the item.

  1. Access the Reports - Schedules page: in this section you can view the list of schedules already added. Clicking on the individual item will display the detail information associated with it.

  2. Select one or more schedules to delete by clicking on the checkbox located at the left end of each item.

  3. As soon as at least one item is selected, the Delete button with a trash can icon appears in the upper right corner of the schedules' list.

  4. Clicking this button displays a modal summarizing the operation. Click the Confirm button to confirm.

Attenzione

Deleting a schedule does not delete the reports associated with it.

Report management

The list of reports created will be viewable within the Reports - Registry page.

Viewing and managing a report is only allowed to users in the admins group or users belonging to a group with permission related to report management (Handle reports). Users in the admins group will be able to view and manage all reports created. Other users, on the other hand, will only be able to view and manage reports generated by their schedules.

For each report generated it will be possible to download:

  • the report PDF file
  • a ZIP file containing the PDF report, the attachments, and a directory with SVG files of all the charts in the report

Delete a report

  1. Access the Reports - Registry page: in this section you can view the list of reports already created. Clicking on the individual item will display the detail information associated with it.

  2. Select one or more reports to delete by clicking on the checkbox located at the left end of each item.

  3. As soon as at least one item is selected, the Delete button with a trash can icon appears in the upper right corner of the reports' list.

  4. Clicking this button displays a modal summarizing the operation. Click the Confirm button to confirm.
